Yoga – Finding Balance
January 05, 2010Yoga has become a perfect complement to high endurance types of exercise. There are multiple benefits when strengthening specific areas of the body through these high endurance exercise routines. These routines are designed to overcome weaknesses in specific areas of the body. Since these high endurance activities are specific they tend to neglect other areas that are not specific to the activity. Yoga has become the perfect solution to finding these balances.
The meaning of yoga is to unionize imbalanced energy. The physical practices of yoga can balance the neuro-muscular demands presented during endurance activity. Endurance activities include things like skiing, biking, running, tennis, swimming, dancing, and motorcycle riding. These activities require high demands of constant muscular contraction and alertness.

The ushtrasana or camel pose, and the dhanurasana or bow pose, have specifically been found to help the function of the pancreas and benefit people with diabetes. However, theses two poses may be challenging at first.
During high endurance activities, the muscles remain active in order to enable them to respond to the next demand presented. The more a muscle contracts the stronger the muscle becomes. Many high-level endurance activities, like skiing or running, make the muscles being used very strong. Unfortunately most endurance activities are one-sided. This means that one side of the body is getting really strong while the opposite side is being neglected.
If you learn to apply yoga to your daily life, you will get a long term solution to the problem of achieving self control and self fulfilment. Without any special equipment you can do exercises that keep in you in shape, put your mind at peace and attain an internally balanced body. All you need to perform yoga is a woolen blanket or a foam mat.
You don’t need to be an athlete to practice yoga. If you can learn to stretch your body then you can achieve the full benefits of this wonderful form of exercise. Once you learn it from a trained yogi you can practice it in the comfort of your home and it will remain with you all your life.
So do not wait anymore. Adopt yoga in your life and achieve wellness besides weight loss
